Wedding Album - used some of Chris' files

Jeff and I celebrated 30 years on June 25th.  We camped for a week to celebrate.  He fished and I scrapbooked.  Finished a few details when I got home.  You can see the entire album here:  https://www.facebook.com/memrybug/media_set?set=a.10200867675208121.1073741828.1651717818&type=1

Visual Designs by Chris files were used digitally by importing them into PSE 8:
#freebie Your Love Lifts Me Up
#CD00550 Love title
#CD00451 Your Love Brings Me Peace
#CD00883 Digital stamp - Next to You is Where I Belong
#CD00498 Wedding Titles - used the word GUESTS

I used the same products throughout for continuity:
*Colors:  Pink, Silver/Gray, Black, White and Dark Green
*Fonts:  Times New Roman and Wendy Medium
*Alphas:  Heidi Grace sticker letters (got on clearance at JoAnn's a few weeks ago) & Girls are Wierd Sizzix dies
*Scherenschnitte pieces by Gina Bear (purchased in 1999) I started running out of the pieces so I used a frame sheet that came with them and cut some Tim Holtz Tattered Banners (got that die on clearance a few weeks ago too)
*Heidi Grace epoxy hearts (40% off at JoAnn's)
*Pearls (50% off at Hobby Lobby)
*Mix of Prima, KI, and Paper Studio flowers (used coupons)
*Patterned Papers:  Anna Griffin QVC kit purchased in 2003, Becky Higgins Project Life: Wedding Edition Kit & some Midnight Core Kit
*Washi tape:  KI memories - $1 bin at Wal-Mart.  I tore some of it to look like an arrow and wrote people's names on it.
*Stickers:  Cloud 9, 7 Gypsies and Paper Studio - all purchased on clearance
*Glitz and Glimmer Wedding stickers (40% off at HL) - used these on the covers and the outside of the page protectors.
*Rose Ribbon - purchased on clearance in 1999

I used 1/4" Corner Chomper which almost matches the Project Life corners

I created pennants from some patterned paper and many of the stickers.

This was my first time doing pocket scrapbooking.  It was fun, but I'm not certain I like the flimsiness of the pages.  I used a Pioneer strap hinge album.  Even with the pocket scrapbooking, I like my pages to appear as a book.

Sorry for the glare.  I tried to use natural light without a flash but it still glared a bit.

As you can see, I had been planning this for a long time with some of my purchases.  I am glad to have it finished.  Here's to 30 more years!

** I also photo copied our marriage license to include on one of the last pages of the album.  It was fun doing these photos.  I am glad I didn't do them when I was a newbie scrapper.  *smile*

just because card using Chris Durnan's Silly Bird cutter file

What a cute little bird! I cut Chris's Silly Bird file, put some pen stitching around his beak and wings, added a little glitter glue and he was ready to go. I pop-dotted the stamped phrase and tied a piece of blue ribbon and voila! an instant "just because" card. You can find Chris's Silly Bird file here.

Thanks for looking!

Thinking of you card using Chris Durnan's cutter file

How cute is this owl?! This is part of a cutter file that was included in Chris Durnan's Quarterly Membership Club. I cut him out, pin-stitched and chalked the edges. I layered him on a torn and inked piece of patterned paper. I stamped the Thinkin' of you! sentiment on a torn, inked piece of cardstock and pop-dotted it on the card. Be sure to check out all of Chris's great files here!

Mother's Day Card using #CD00804

I used Chris's file #CD00804 Floral Card front to make my ma a Mother's Day card this year.  I added the sentiment with a stamp.  Used rub ons to make the flowers purple and added a prima flower to the center bloom with a brad.  Added some bling and then spritzed it with a spray I made with water and a green twinkling H20.  For some reason in the photo you can see the sparkle but not much of the green.

Valentine #CD00938

Today is National Scrapbooking Day and I am hoping to make it to my studio to at least begin a project.  I was doing some cleaning of photos off my camera and realized I forgot to send this from February.  It was my Valentine to Jeff.  I used the fisherman from Visual Designs by Chris file #CD00938.  I cut off the fish from the file and used origami to fold a $100 bill to make the fish. He has a fishing trip planned with his brother in July and I figured he could use the cash to purchase something "fishy".   *smile*  I had added a border around it with a white gel pen but he unfolded the fish and put it in his pocket before I could take another photo.  *wink*

birthday card using CD0060 - Chris's Fancy Journaling Frames

I made this birthday card using Chris's cutter file - Fancy Journaling Frames. You can find it here. I really need to get a new camera, the one on my cell phone doesn't do this card justice. I cut the background from a lightly patterned yellow paper, then cut the journal block from patterned green, inked the edges with brown and layered it all on a solid sheet of green with torn and inked edges.

Thank you card using Chris Durnan's cutter file

Here's another card using a cutter file from Chris Durnan's Quarterly Membership Club. You can find the club in her store here. This file also came with a coffee pot. I absolutely love how versatile her cutter files are. I cut the swirls and Thank you on my Cricut and layered them on a brown card blank. Instant card!

card using Chris Durnan's cutter file

How cute is this coffee cup?! I cut the background in black and the foreground in a pattern. I put it on a card base that I stamped with a coffee ring rubber stamp and the greeting "Thanks a Latte" using chalk inks.

This coffee cup is only one small portion of the file. And better still, this file was part of Chris's Quarterly Membership Club. For $10, you get 20 digital cutter files. You can find Chris's QMC here and her digital cutter store here.

Terrific Tuesday Sketch

Chris has a Sketch available in the VDBC Forum accessed by her Blog . I immediately thought of this design making a great Christmas card. I know.... either waaaay too early or waaaay too late LOL

This card has been created digitally with PSCS5 and I have added styles and textures to the cutter files to add dimension.

I used a kit called Sparkleshine by Kathy Winters Designs. Just right for my card!

Thanks for looking,

Have a wonderful day wherever you are! Cheers, caz

Eagle Scout Card

My youngest daughter's boyfriend is finishing up his Eagle Scout project today.  He was here this weekend, and we gave him a Collectors knife made specifically for Eagle Scouts and I made this card to give to him using the eagle from a file from Visualdesignsbychris called Freedom Eagle:  #CD00785:  http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/store/product.php?productid=18639&cat=0&page=1

Red, white and blue card stock scraps, a few navy brads, a die cut shield that I had in my white paper scraps (Tim Holtz maybe?)  I just printed "Be prepared", the boy scout motto, on cardstock and used a square punch to trim the end to make a banner out of it.  Pop dots to mount the shield , the banner and the eagle.

two birthday cards using Chris Durnan's cutter file

I used Chris's Never Let Age Tame You file (here) to make these two birthday cards. The first one I cut only the animal print frame and the greeting. I put two pieces of ribbon around the greeting to complete.

The second card I used the entire file. I love the effect of the frame around the Never Let Age Tame You collage. I put the greeting inside the card.

The animal print frame would also be great around a picture of your favorite animal or trip to the zoo.

Christmas card with Chris Durnan's cutter file

I used one of Chris's Christmas greeting files from her Quarterly Club Membership to cut the perfect Packer greeting for this snowman stamp. Colored in the stamp, inked the edges of the card and layered the greeting on top of the stamp. Check out Chris and all her fantastic files here.

Merry Christmas!

December: Gift for coworkers

These are my gifts for work.  I created the jar top label In Photoshop Elements using two Visual Designs by Chris files:  #CD00955 for the words Merry Christmas and #CD00898 Side cut ornaments - I used the bell.   Added a little text "from the McGoverans" in a cute font.   I made 12 to a page since I had 24 to make.  I made them so they would fit the top of the jar lid then used a 2" circle punch to punch out the label.  Added a few red jewels, a ribbon and threaded a green button to add to the ribbon.  Inside is peach butter made by my ma from their peach tree.  This may be the last year for work gifts.  When I started, I only had five co-workers.  We are now up to 25 counting myself.
