March Sketch Challenge

I'm not quite finished with these but wanted to post them since today is the last day of March!  I'm still trying to decide on titles and I forgot to cut journaling boxes for them when I cutting.  Now my husband has taken his laptop and left it at work since I now have my own.  I just need to load my KNK software on it - lol.  Anyway, back to the pages.

The one with the green background has a cut from "Up the Page Set 2" (CD00634) by Chris.  And at the bottom of it, the adorable penguin is from Card-I-ology's Merry Christmas Card.  I just wish I had cut his hat from orange - lol.  I don't see this file in the store so I guess I got it off her blog.

Scattered on the "up the page" cut are small paw print charms from www.acharmingplace.com. I colored them orange with a sharpie. I'm still trying to think of a cute title for the page.  Any ideas?

On the second layout (red background) I used another of Chris' files "ORN trees" (CD00187),  I stretched the tree tall to fit on one side, then hung Dollar Sign charms (from www.acharmingplace.com) on it.   I'm still trying to decide on a title for this one too.  I'm thinking about "O' Money Tree" - LOL.  What do you think?

Oh - that is my niece!  She cracks me up.  And this past Christmas, it occurred to me how much she is like me when I was her age!!!

Thanks for looking.

Giant Pandas

This layout uses digital personal cutter files CD00682 - Panda Bear that was a file available in a QMC that Chris runs in her Store on a quarterly basis. A new QMC has just hit the Store and, at $10 for 20 plus files, is fantastic value.

Adelaide Zoo (South Australia) has recently taken on a pair of Giant Pandas and this file was perfect. I found a picture of bamboo which I altered in Photoshop to use as my background. Styles and textures have been added to the Cutter files to give them texture and dimension.

Designed to show that cutter (Cricut, Pazzles, Klic N Kut etc) files can be used digitally!

Thanks for looking,

Candle Flower

I used the tag from CD00678 to make this birthday flower for my ma.  I saw something similar on a Stampin' up website a while back and added a few changes to make it my own.  I hold a craft class for some ladies at church one Sunday a month and this will be this month's project.  Loved the shape of this tag for the project.  Many neat tags in this set!

Card Using CD00584 - Dolphin with Sparkle

I created this card for a Charm Challenge being run over at the Visual Designs By Chris and the More Team Forum at the moment. I cut the CD00584-Dolphin With Sparkle out of glittered cardstock, inked all the edges and added a Dolphin charm that my son had from a broken necklace.

I even created the scalloped mat myself which I was pretty chuffed with!

Sketch Challenge Submission

Here's my version of the March sketch.  I really liked the long photo block and the white space. I filled the white space with a journal block since I do not have a 12 inch printer to print directly on my layouts.

Supplies used: Pagemaps sketch,Imaginisce patterned paper, Shelly's Art die cut, Chris Durnan's journal block, title 2 peas miss happy font welded and cut on my craft robo and Calibri font for journal.

The journal block reads:  Ice cream is defined by Webster as a rich, sweet, creamy frozen food made from variously flavored cream and milk products churned or stirred to a smooth consistency during the freezing process.  We define ice cream as Yum, Yum.  We have especially developed a love for Cold Stone Creamery, whose ice cream fits the definition of rich, sweet and creamy.  This summer we made regular evening trips to enjoy the frozen confection and each of us has developed our favorite combination.  We rarely experiment with the other flavors, why mess with perfection?  Andrew chooses cheesecake ice cream with white chips mixed in.  I love the oatmeal cookie dough ice cream with chocolate shavings.  Ben's choice is always cotton candy with white chips.  Ethan picks sweet cream ice cream with Oreo cookies.    Up to this point, Nadia shares with everyone.  Although, I am sure that she is already forming her opinion for next summer.

With Sympathy #2

I used this sketch again (and I hope my last for a while). On this one I used the back side of the black and white paper that I used on my first card.

With Sympathy is from Shelly's Art and the swirly vine on the bottom is from www.visualdesignsbychris.com 's Spring Swirl file (CD00577).

I can't find my container of charms :( so I can"t add the dove like I did on the first one.
For the inside of this one I decided to stamp a sentiment.  The card is so tall that the sentiment stamp I have was going to look out of place so I cut two swirls from Sam and Hailey Design's file and put them on top and bottom of the stamp. And after all my pretty work I smudged the stamp - lol.

Irish Blessing

This layout has been designed using digital personal cutter files CD00482-May Your Blessings and CD00676-Luck Fanciful Border. I have applied styles to the cutter files giving them texture and dimension. The photos are from the Internet.

Baby Baby-CD00608

I made this LO in between taking care of my father, and helping my DD with the new nursery, among all the other everyday living....  Whew!!  I wanted to get a jumpstart on our new lil' ones album.  And btw.. we have found out that it is Definitely a BOY!  The colors are simple, and I just freehanded the cloud, using Cateye inks, the ribbon is Colorbok sticky ribbon ('Baby Boy'), and Waterfall blue and Copper stickles for the dots. A couple of buttons and brads to finish it off. The file cut beautifully, and I just loved the 'reflection effect'! Very clever, Chris-- thanks so much!

New Double Layout using CD00583

To start of the month, I have created a double layout using Chris Durnan's CD00583 - Kangaroo with Sparkle , just one of the many Animals with Sparkle files that Chris has created.

These are photos taken from a visit we did back when I was doing Childcare. We took the children on an excursion to a Kangaroo Sanctuary, in Yongala in Mid North South Australia, where the children were able to feed the Roos and get up really close to these gorgeous creatures. We even saw a few Joeys (baby kangaroo) which the children thought was wonderful.

This file from Chris was perfect for this layout! I love the way the Sparkle allows the background to show through. This is a digital personal cutter file, but has been used here on a digital layout, and worked perfectly!
