Thanksgiving layouts

I was able to work on my Thanksgiving album this weekend. For last year's photos I used a VDBC file THANKSGIVING from #CD00172 Thanksgiving Traditions. Sometimes all I really need to finish off a layout is a nice title. This scripty lettering really enhanced the papers I had chosen.

For my 2009 photos... let me just say I don't think in the history of my 12+ years of scrapbooking have I ever scrapped photos within the week they were taken. LOL For this layout, I used THANKS GIVING from #CD00177 Thankful Titles 2. I like to complement my other cutting systems (here, the Sizzix) with the use of my Wishblade. The title from this set was the perfect touch to a quick and easy layout. Made it look like it took longer than it really did. *smile*

planner page with Chris's files

I signed up for the planner swap on Chris's Forum - http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/forum/. I used two of her files - the January is from her file Months with Flair - and the party hats are from her Hats & Balloons Borders file. Chris, you rock!

"Welcome Spring" using CD00623

Another gorgeous file being offered in Chris's QMC. This "Nostalgic Streetlight" is just stunning, I love it. I decided to use it as a "Welcome Spring" card which could be used as "Thinking of You" card. I am really pleased with the way this card turned out.

I have used a wood style on the streetlight and a clear acrylic style to simulate the lit lamp.

Join the QMC and add this, and many more, wonderful files to your cutter collection!

Thanks for looking,

cheers, caz

November Sketch Challenge

This is my card for the sketch challenge for November in the Forum. I have used CD00499 - Wedding Words2 and one of the doily style mats as supplied for the challenge. Head over to the forum and you can participate in this challenge and also get free files designed by Chris.... so you know they are great!

I have applied embossing styles to the brackets and the "Love" title. The digital kit is one that I designed.

Novemeber sketch challenge

The November sketch challenge is up in the forum. This month we are focusing on creating a card to get us ready for the holiday season. The sketch is provided to us by Becky Fleck at Pagemaps and Chris has created several files to help you along.

Here's my version:

I had full intentions to follow the sketch exactly, but when I started to put all the pieces together, it just looked better off centered. Oh well, the joy of creativity!

I used Chris's Poinsettia Happy holidays It also has a nice title with the poinsettia that you can cut as well.
Supplies used:
Page Maps sketch
Foof-a-la papers
Kaiser crafts gem
Stampin up title stamp
Chris Durnan's Poinsettia Happy Holidays
SKU: CD00137

I would love for you to play along, so be sure to check it out. Rosalie

thank you card with Chris's files

How cute is this lady bug? I just love her! I used Chris's lady bug file - from her QMC club last quarter - and her bracket file from one of her sketch challenges on the forum. I cut a bracket from yellow, then reduced the size of the file and cut it from the purple. I used some skittles that a wonderful lady sent me to make the lady bug's eyes stand out.
