CD00663-You are Invited

I have a new grandbaby (No 4) coming in July.  I had been contemplating on getting started with the shower invitations.  And when Chris posted this file up in the QMC..I thought "Wha-la"..that's it!  So, after building some parts and ideas together, I first made this one. Little did I know how unexperienced I really was with 'pastels'.  It has taken me sometime, and several back-offs, and then I made the decision to quit beating myself up and put this together.  It still isn't to my 'Wow' stage,  and I  will continue to work with it, and may change it all together. I let myself get all flustered with it.  I had to remind myself scrapbooking is to enjoy and have fun!  You don't make it a 'forced job', or let it overcome you. It's supposed to be a pleasure, and if you don't like how your project turns out, step away, think on it, and something fun will pop in your mind.  It isn't always going to come out perfect and it isn't always going to 'WOW' you, the thing we must remember, is..having the pleasure of creating.  The file 'You are Invited', cut out wonderful, and is so versatile, for any event! I just love it! Thanks again, Chris! I always get pleasure out of your files, and seeing everyones differnet versions. And.. if there's any tips on working with pastels, that ya'll may know..heyyyy.. I would love hearing any lil' tidbit I can to learn.  Learning is growing, right?  Have a great day! (psst-- we got sunshine in our forecast--YAY!!!!  No snow!)  =)

Valentine bag-CD00651

This is a few variations of the file from this QMC, the Valentine bag CD00651. I cut original size (2 1/4 ") and cut a couple more an inch larger.  Then used stickles, metallic paper, bead spacers, & ribbon for embellishments.  The large red & silver one already has a gift ( horse charm bracelet) inside of it, for my pal (grandaughter)!  And the other two are spoken for as well!  So, I think these are going to be hits for Valentines Day! Thanks, Chris! These were so fun to cut and make!   (luv2bmamaw)  Melody

"Love" - a card using CD00577

Chris has so many gorgeous files, it can be quite difficult to pick which one to work with next. I love Swirls though, so when browsing through my collection and I came across this little gem, I couldn't resist using it on a card with this cute little digistamp.

The Swirl on this card is one of two that come from a personal cutter file called Spring Swirls . I have added styles to the swirl including a texture and drop shadow. I like the way it looks as though the little mouse has just picked the flower off the swirl and is running off to present it to someone special!

Designed to show that personal cutter files can be used very successfully in your photo editing software.

The little mouse is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps and the digital kit is from Peppermint Creative.

Feb 2010 Card sketch

Here's my example for the February sketch challenge.    Cards are not my strength, I am much better at scrapbook pages, but I do enjoy giving a hand made card.  I also love that I use my scraps to make the cards.

The die cuts I used were:
1.  The bird from Happy Bird day
2.  The flourish by CAZ found in the sketch forum.

Thanks for playing along.  I can't wait to see what you create.   Rosalie

2000 and ten

Used the 2000 and ten file from VDBC #CD00644.  I worked on this layout all weekend and just wasn't satisfied... too many embellishments.  So I decided to go simple and focus on the photos.  Which is what we are supposed to do anyway, eh?  *smile*  So used the KISS (Keep it Simple Silly) method.  Created visual triangles with the color yellow and the use of brads.

So let me say it one more time - go check out Chris's QMC for the best value on digital cutter files for Wishblade, CraftRobo, Cricut, and all the others. Check this out:

Chris designed this fabulous gift bag as part of her QMC. I lined the heart cutout side with pink cardstock and
outlined them with glitter glue. I put a piece of floral foam in the bottom. Then I made these simple little candy flowers and put them in the gift bag. I can't wait to give this to hubby!

It's not too late to join the QMC - check out the details here.

Valentine's Day card from QMC

Here are my two takes on Chris's Valentine's Day card from the QMC which you can purchase here... http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/store/product.php?productid=16874&cat=0&page=1  .

I used the file completely on the bottom card.  I backed it with white paper and didn't like it so I colored the white with the Blossom atyou Spica pen. I also used the clear atyou Spica pen on the Happy Valentine's Day and the two heart outlines.

On the top card I just used heart piece, then added two Friend stamps.

The heart charms on both cards are from www.acharmingplace.com.

thanks for looking...

CD00650-Valentines Card

Here's my latest file I finished from Visual Design by Chris.   I layered the cut-out with red to make letters 'pop'!
Added some stickles, (of course! Ha)     Tied a ribbon on side with co-ordinating colors, for an added touch.
I chose brown, to make it more 'Masculine Sweet' for my DH, topped with a Sweetheart stamp, using CTMH ink pad.
It cut really smooth and I love the design!  Thanks Chris!
