Vineyard Jumble Card

Here is a card I have created using Chris's Vineyard Jumble file. This file is a bargain as it not only contains the jumble I have used as a background mat on my card, but also a frame which I have used to mount my greeting on!

A beautiful card for my friend :)

cheers, caz

Using Sketch challenge but border from file challenge

The left side of the layout started as the June sketch challenge... strayed just a little. Also added a second page. Used the border from the quarterly file challenge. These challenges are what keeps me scrapbooking these days. *smile* Had help from my 14 yo on this one. She liked the bold lettering.

Thanks Card using Chris's Fancy Borders 2 file

Here is a card I made with Chris's files - a freebie, thanks, and the border, Fancy Borders 2, which can be found here. I squished it slightly so it would fit on my rectangle card. I added two paper flowers with brads for a little fun.

Father's Day Card 2009 using #CD00546

This is theFather's Day card I made for Jeff this year. The girls have always enjoyed his stories... not just fishing, but all sorts of stories that supposedly have happened in his life. There may be a "thread" of truth. I had each of them write something about how they enjoy his stories. It was pretty touching. Sierra (age 17) wrote that she'll never be too old for a bedtime story and Savannah (age 14) wrote that she likes that he talks smack. LOL

This is a Visual DeSigns by Chris file #CD00546. Cut with my Wishblade. I added a close-up photo hoping you can see the detail. Love details!! I masked off the fish to grunge up the words using a Van Dyke charteuse ink and a water mister. Inked the edges with a little Van Dyke brown. Painted the 'frame" part of the image with a bit of gold Pearls. Unmasked the fish and painted it with two colors of Twinkling H2Os. Added a little pole, a rhinestone for the eye and a few stitch marks. Pretty easy and it really didn't take too long. Oh, yeah, Jeff had just restrung a reel that Friday night so I dug the fishing line out of the trash and used it as ribbon. It didn't want to tie well but a few glue dots did the trick.

Blue Bird

OK, so I had the other half of that funky border from the challenge file to use and this is where it wound up. "A Little Bird Told Me" is a file by Beloved Keepsakes a good friend of Chris. My next door neighbors have blue bird houses in their back yard and every year they have several families use the houses. I found the feather on the card this year in my driveway and picked it up to give to them. When I saw Lori's file I knew I had to use it for a card for my neighbors. And when I made the envelope the same pink as my funky border, well, it was destiny - lol. I just love that funky border!!!

Oh, on the inside I wrote "What great neighbors I have." :-)

A Card for the June Challeng

I incorporated 3 of Chris's files for this card. And yes it is Father's Day and I'm just making the card - lol. I called my Dad today and told him his card was coming late and that I didn't have time to make him one this year. I actually bought one yesterday. I'm going to send it too since I love the sentiment in it. Any hooo back to this one. I used the June Challenge file funky border but cut a piece off of it. I also used "Hay Happy Father's Day (CD00548) with some modifications and "You're Gonna What? (CD00513). My Dad raises cows so I like to use them on his cards and I love how this one looks - lol. And of course I had to use the "Hay" because I'm from the south and that's how we say "hello" to everyone - lol. The inside has the "Happy Father's Day frame from the "Hay" file. I cut the Horse head off (forgive me Chris - lol). I love how it turned out. The funky border looks like confetti to me. Thanks for looking.

Cat Tails and Reeds card

Here is a card I made using Chris's CatTails and Reeds cutter file. I love this file, it is so versatile. Here is it on the front of a card, but it would just as gorgeous as a mat on a scrapbooking page, take away the frame and you have a very effective border for a layout!.

I sponged the background of the card which gave me a lovely mottled background and used textured cardstock for the reeds, cattails and the setting sun! It is very effective and the photo doesnt really do it justice.

Thanks for looking,

Have a great day wherever you are!

cheers, caz

Here is the first of many layouts from my stepson's wedding on May 23rd. This is one of my daughter before the wedding. She hates getting her picture taken and always hides her face and pouts when I yell at her for smiling her cheesy smile instead of her gorgeous smile that she has.

June's sketch challenge

The sketch this month is once again a Pagemaps design and is so cute. I love the circle border. I can't wait to see what you do with this sketch. All the cutter files to complete this sketch are located in the forum. You can get them HERE.
