I am creating a mini album for our family vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama, in 2009. I used some Accu-cut dies at my local scrapbook store to cut the pages placing a piece of chipboard between the cardstock to give it some bulk. I think the pages are about 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. The cardstock I used is textured with a white core so I sanded the edges and the entire surface of the paper. Many of the images are mounted with foam squares to add dimension and texture to the album. On the cover page, I used a seahorse and seashell from Packet of Seashells from VDBC #CD00284 that can be found here: I am doing the pages out of order but on page 11, I used two different seashells and a star fish from that same file. There are several images in this file so I will be able to use it throughout the album. Cover page: I used a netty kind of ribbon, a beach coaster that I have had for ages, a shell charm, a "family" sticker that is old old old. Remember slide mounts! I stamped this one with a sand stamp then printed the word Vacation on my printer. Wrapped some white jute rope that will be able to be used on the page on other side as well. I used a pink heart mini brad on the seahorse and to get a visual triange of hearts and pink, I added two Heidi Grace heart stick pins. They are stuck in the foam square that is attaching the coaster to the page. Behind the coaster is some cardboard with the backing torn off and barn white acrylic paint dry brushed onto it. To include the theory of threes, I also dry brushed the shell and the seahorse. Page 11: used the netty ribbon again. The PP throughout will be some ancient K&Co. paper from a pad that I bought maybe a decade ago. It will help pull the album together to use papers from the same line. A few mini brads, some word stickers, a little bling from the $1 bin at Michaels but it happened to be half off. Bargain! Will share more as I get them finished. ~Angie~ (Missouri) ~I am blessed!!~ |
